How much does SEMrush cost?
SEMrush is priced as a premium, all-in-one marketing platform, and the plans reflect that. There are three main tiers, and the differences between them come down to volume limits and which advanced toolkits you unlock.
The Pro plan is $139.95/month and is the entry point for freelancers and small teams. It includes the core keyword research, backlink analysis, and site audit tools, with limits of 5 projects and 500 tracked keywords. For one person managing a handful of sites, it’s usually enough, but those limits are easy to hit if you’re busy.
The Guru plan is $249.95/month and is the tier most growing agencies land on. It raises the caps to 15 projects and 1,500 tracked keywords and, importantly, unlocks the Content Marketing Toolkit and historical data. If you produce content at volume or manage several clients, the extra headroom and content features are where Guru earns its keep.
The Business plan is $499.95/month and targets large teams and enterprises that need API access, extended limits (40 projects, 5,000 keywords), and product-listing-ad analytics. Most users never need it; those who do usually know exactly why.
As with most tools in this space, paying annually rather than monthly lowers the effective rate noticeably, so the headline figures above are the higher monthly-billing prices.
Is there a free plan or trial?
SEMrush gives you two low-cost ways in. There’s a limited free account with a single project and a small number of daily searches, enough to poke around the interface and run a few lookups, but far too capped for real work.
The better option is the 7-day free trial of a paid plan. It requires payment details up front, but you get full access during the week and can cancel before it ends without being charged. If you want to genuinely evaluate SEMrush, the trial is the way to do it, just set a reminder so you decide before the clock runs out.
Is SEMrush worth the price?
Whether SEMrush justifies its price depends entirely on how much of the platform you’ll actually use.
If you’re an agency or marketing team running SEO, PPC, content, and competitive research, the Pro or Guru plan is reasonable value precisely because it consolidates several tools into one subscription. The breadth that makes SEMrush feel expensive is the same breadth that makes it pay off when you lean on all of it.
If you’re a solo blogger or small-site owner who mainly needs keyword research and rank tracking, the math is harder to justify. You’d be paying premium suite prices for a fraction of the features, and a focused tool like Mangools or SE Ranking covers those jobs for far less. In that case, the savings are better spent elsewhere.

Pricing FAQ
How much does SEMrush cost?
SEMrush has three main plans: Pro at $139.95/month, Guru at $249.95/month, and Business at $499.95/month. Annual billing lowers the effective monthly rate, and a 7-day free trial lets you test a paid plan before committing.
Does SEMrush have a free plan?
SEMrush offers a limited free account with capped daily searches and a single project, plus a 7-day free trial of a paid plan. The free tier is fine for a quick look but too restricted for regular SEO work.
Is there a SEMrush free trial?
Yes. SEMrush offers a 7-day free trial on its paid plans, which requires payment details to start. You get full access during the trial and can cancel before it ends to avoid being charged.
Is SEMrush worth the price?
For agencies and marketing teams who use the full toolkit, SEO, PPC, content, and competitive research, the Pro or Guru plan is reasonable value because it replaces several tools. For solo users who only need keyword research, cheaper options like Mangools or SE Ranking deliver better value.
